How to add plugins to a Java Minecraft server
Adding Plugins
This will teach you how to add plugins to your Minecraft: Java Edition server.
- Make sure you have software running the Bukkit API, such as Spigot, Paper, or Purpur
- Visit the Nether Host Panel and log in.
- Download the plugins you would like, either from SpigotMC or Bukkit
- If you would also like, we have a built-in plugin installer
- Return to the panel, and select "Manage" on the server you want to install plugins on.
- Make sure you start, then stop your server before continuing.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, select "File Manager"
- After selecting this, locate the
plugins
folder and enter it - Drag all the files you downloaded into the
plugins
folder - Return to your server's console
- Restart the Server
- Ensure all of the plugins have started correctly to prevent bugs and crashes

This will teach you how to add plugins to your Minecraft: Bedrock Edition server.
- Make sure you have software running the PocketMineMP
- Visit the Nether Host Panel and log in.
- Download the plugins you would like, from Poggit
- If you would also like, we have a built-in plugin installer
- Return to the panel, and select "Manage" on the server you want to install plugins on.
- Make sure you start, then stop your server before continuing.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, select "File Manager"
- After selecting this, locate the
plugins
folder and enter it - Drag all the files you downloaded into the
plugins
folder - Return to your server's console
- Restart the Server
- Ensure all of the plugins have started correctly to prevent bugs and crashes

Adding Mods
This will teach you how to add mods to your Minecraft: Java Edition server.
Remember, when running a modded server, you must install the same mods on both the client and server!
- Make sure you have software running a Mod API, such as Forge or Fabric
- Visit the Nether Host Panel and login.
- Download the plugins you would like, either from Modrinth or CurseForge
- Return to the panel, and select "Manage" on the server you want to install mods on.
- Make sure you start and then stop your server before continuing.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, select "File Manager"
- After selecting this, locate the
mods
folder and enter it - Drag all the files you downloaded into the
mods
folder - Return to your server's console
- Restart the Server
- Ensure all of the plugins have started correctly to prevent bugs and crashes

How to add mods (or behavior packs) to Minecraft Bedrock
Adding Mods
This will teach you how to add mods to your Minecraft: Bedrock Edition server.
- Make sure you have either vanilla Minecraft Bedrock, or PocketMineMP
- Visit the Nether Host Panel and login.
- Download the mods you would like, from MCPEDL
- If needed, make sure you install the Resource Packs and Behavior Packs
- Return to the panel, and select "Manage" on the server you want to install packs on.
- Make sure you start and then stop your server before continuing.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, select "File Manager"
- After selecting this, locate the
behavior_packs
folder and enter it - Drag all the files you downloaded into the
behavior_packs
folder - If needed, do the same for resource packs.
- Return to your server's console
- Restart the Server
- Ensure all of the plugins have started correctly to prevent bugs and crashes
